It’s one thing to have an inspiring quote - the self-help books and websites are full of them. But it’s another thing to turn that inspiration into a lasting reality. Your initial enthusiasm for change means little if five minutes later you find yourself looking at a grumpy cat on YouTube. To make real change in your life can be a daunting prospect. I’m here to help you to turn the What If’s? into a platform for real change.

overcoming creative and emotional blocks

My background is in creativity and I specialise in working with creative people of all disciplines to help them overcome blocks in both their professional and personal lives in order to reach their full potential. You lack confidence and watch as others around you seem to thrive? Your relationship lacks a little sparkle? Somewhere inside you have a feeling that something needs fixing? Impostor syndrome, burnout, self-doubt, fear of public speaking, procrastination? I will work with you in a warm and supportive way to help overcome obstacles so that you may lead the life you wish to lead.

I feel I have a good understanding of how the creative mind works,  as  I have been through many of these same challenges myself. The creative person (and into this group I would include entrepreneurs) are hunters. Their prey: winning the pitch, making the film, writing the book, sealing the deal, slam-dunking the audition. Standing in their way are self-doubt, impostor syndrome, the challenge of maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

It is often a famine/feast situation, squaring the excitement of the chase with the resulting “comedown” afterwards. Creatives are often needing to nurse themselves between each new challenge and judge themselves harshly when they don’t get the job, don’t get the part, are suffering from writer’s block or the business is going through a rocky patch. Their ego’s become closely entwined with their chosen vocation.

fixing that “thing”

This experience can perhaps be summarised by a feeling that some “thing” is standing between them and the person they would like to be and the life they would like to lead. I use the therapeutic experience to help clients understand the unresolved issues that are holding them back and create a solution-focussed pathways to a new future. If you’re fed up with the same old strategies, and want fresh ideas for healing trauma, depression, and anxiety, then you’ve come to the right place.
