What is hypnosis like?

Its a little bit like a long journey where you find yourself looking out the window and drifting off somewhere. It’s a process that requires little effort and where you remain in complete control. The experience of hypnosis is a deeply calm and relaxing one.

I don’t think I can be hypnotised

Most people can be hypnotised unless they are resisting the process. Hypnosis is a natural stateThere is no special technique. Occasionally it can take more than one session for some people to tune in , but even in these cases the client will benefit from the therapeutic part of the session anyway.

How many sessions will I need?

Hypnotherapy is a fast and effective treatment and will not need many sessions. For some people their issue can be dealt with in one single session and the average is three or four sessions. For people who have more deeply rooted problems, such as trauma or emotional difficulties, we may need more time.

How effective is online hypnotherapy?

Online hypnotherapy is very effective, as many of my clients will testify. There are some advantages to working online, for example some clients find that being in a familiar environment is more relaxing. Also, the cost of travel is avoided. I work with many people all over the country and indeed the world for whom it simply is not practical to visit my therapy practice. I have been successfully conducting therapy online via Zoom, Skype and Facetime for quite a while now.

I feel nervous about sharing my problems

My approach is very warm, friendly and supportive. I understand how difficult it can be to make that first step. I will always work at the speed at which the client feels comfortable. I am always happy to have an initial chat on the phone so that we can get to know each other a little better. This initial consultation is free and there is no obligation
