How does hypnosis help anxiety?

I use hypnosis to support your emotional wellbeing, help create a new mindset and break free of that endless worry-cycle. Think of hypnosis perhaps as subconscious reprogramming, intervening in that destructive thought pattern that the worst is about to happen and that everything will go wrong.

I have been using hypnosis for many years now and could see that it was helping my clients. And, due to technological advancements we see all around us, in that time brain-scanning technology has also dramatically improved. So now we are able to see induced hypnotic states and how they affect the brain. Like so much of how the brain works, the process of hypnosis is still a mystery; we feel that perhaps people are more suggestible when they are in a very relaxed, hypnotic state. But it is informative to see that science is now able to monitor hypnotic states effecting the brain, helping us to deepen our understanding of this powerful psychological tool.

To answer the question, could hypnotherapy help you with anxiety, social anxiety or panic attacks? I would say that over the years I have certainly helped many people, as reflected in my google Reviews. Hypnotherapy can provide a coping mechanism for those things and help reinforce positive patterns of behaviour and find a calmer, easier way of doing things. Find out more here

Hypnotherapy for anxiety

I've been a registered hypnotherapist with the CNHC for over twenty years. You're working with me directly throughout — not passed between different practitioners on a platform — just a warm, unhurried conversation about what's going on in your life and how I can provide you with the emotional support you need to make changes and move forward. Whatever is making you anxious, whatever is keeping you awake at night, I’m here to listen and to help.

Prefer to talk it through first? Call or message me on WhatsApp — no pressure, I'm always happy to answer questions before you decide anything. I offer a free twenty-minute phone consultation, so you can find out if hypnotherapy feels right for you before committing to anything. Alternatively, fill in the form below and I'll get back to you by phone or email, whichever suits you best.

Social Anxiety

Social anxiety can be so debilitating. Trashing our social lives, preventing us from making new friends or finding a partner, keeping our lips tightly sealed at meetings when we know we have something valuable to contribute. The problem is, the more we don’t put ourselves in social situations, the more we start to reinforce the idea that we just can’t put ourselves in social situations. The more we avoid forming relationships, making friends or speaking up at work the more we are giving ourselves the message that these things are “just not for us”.

Hypnotherapy can help you manage the symptoms of social anxiety, desensitising your encounters with other people so that they seem less challenging, and allowing you to regain some composure and calmness. We then set to work on understanding the underlying causes of your social anxiety with a view to making social interactions an altogether more relaxed, positive experience for you.
