Online Hypnotherapy for Anxiety, Stress & Sleep

Do you find yourself holding it together for everyone else, while underneath you're running on empty? You get the work done, show up, keep smiling — and yet your mind won't switch off, your sleep is patchy at best, and there's a low hum of worry that never quite goes away, even when, on paper, everything's fine. If that sounds familiar, you're far from alone, and it's more common than most people admit.

For some, this shows up mostly in social situations — the dread before a meeting, the racing thoughts before you walk into a room, the exhausting habit of replaying conversations afterwards wondering what people really thought of you. If that's your particular version of it, you're not imagining things, and it's not just "shyness" — social anxiety is its own, very real experience, and one I work with often.

What kind of anxiety and stress can hypnotherapy help with?

Generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, work-related stress and burnout, racing thoughts at night, difficulty switching off, and the sleep problems that so often come hand in hand with all of it. Social anxiety in particular can show up as a fear of being judged, dreading small talk or public speaking, avoiding social events altogether, or that awful feeling of your mind going blank the moment attention turns to you. Whether it's a specific trigger like this or more of a background hum that's just always there, hypnotherapy works with the underlying pattern rather than just the symptom on the surface.

Here's the frustrating trap many people find themselves in with social anxiety: the more you avoid social situations, the more your mind quietly learns that avoiding them was the right call — so next time, the pull to avoid is even stronger. In a sense, every time we opt out, we're rewarding our own brain for the avoidance, reinforcing exactly the pattern we're trying to escape. It's not a failure of willpower — it's a subconscious feedback loop doing what subconscious patterns do.

hypnotherapy to help reduce anxiety

This is where subconscious reprogramming does its most useful work: rather than asking you to white-knuckle your way through the discomfort, we work with that underlying loop directly, so the automatic response itself starts to shift, and social situations gradually stop needing to be "survived."

How does online hypnotherapy work for anxiety?

Talking therapies ask you to think your way through anxiety — often useful, but it doesn't always reach the automatic, subconscious response that's actually driving things: the racing heart before you've even had the thought, the tension that arrives before you've decided to worry. This is often exactly what's happening with social anxiety — you can know, logically, that nobody's judging you as harshly as you imagine, and still feel your body react as though the room is full of critics. Hypnosis works directly with that underlying response, helping to ease its grip rather than asking you to reason with it in the moment.

Sessions are calm and unhurried, working at whatever pace feels right for you. Many clients notice a real shift within a handful of sessions; as a guideline, most anxiety and stress work runs to around 3-6 sessions, though everyone's pace is a little different.

Please read my reviews — over the years I've helped people get back to sleeping properly, walk into meetings without dreading them, and feel like themselves again rather than constantly on edge.

Working online means fitting sessions around a demanding schedule without adding a commute on top — often one less thing to think about, for people who already have enough on their plate.

Hypnotherapy for depression

A personal, one-to-one approach

I've been a registered hypnotherapist with the CNHC for over twenty years. You're working with me directly throughout — not passed between different practitioners on a platform — just a warm, unhurried conversation about what's going on in your life and how I can provide you with the emotional support you need to make changes and move forward. Whatever is making you anxious, whatever is keeping you awake at night, I’m here to listen and to help.

Prefer to talk it through first? Call or message me on WhatsApp — no pressure, I'm always happy to answer questions before you decide anything. I offer a free twenty-minute phone consultation, so you can find out if hypnotherapy feels right for you before committing to anything. Alternatively, fill in the form below and I'll get back to you by phone or email, whichever suits you best.

Is online hypnotherapy as effective as seeing you in person?

The short answer is: for most people, yes. Many clients find online sessions just as effective as in-person — it really comes down to what's most comfortable and convenient for you. I have been seeing clients for over twenty years, and working online for about the last five years.
