Online Hypnotherapy for Phobias

Are you the one making excuses to avoid the thing everyone else seems to manage without a second thought? Perhaps it's flying, needles, small spaces, crowds, “white coat fever” or the sight of something that makes your stomach turn. Whatever the phobia, you already know it's not "rational" — and that's often the most frustrating part. Knowing it doesn't make sense doesn't make it go away.

The good news is that phobias, more than almost anything else I work with, tend to respond well to a focused approach. This isn't about years on a therapist's couch — it's about working directly with the response your mind has learned to have, and helping it learn something different.

Hypnotherapy for fear of flying

What kind of phobias can hypnotherapy help with?

Fear of flying, claustrophobia, agoraphobia, emetophobia, needle phobias, fear of heights, driving anxiety, health-related fears (including “white coat fever”)— if it's a specific, identifiable trigger causing a disproportionate fear response, hypnosis is often very well suited to it.

One comes up again and again: flying. For some, it's a well-earned summer break; for others, a once-in-a-lifetime trip, or a chance to visit family who live far away. And then there are clients for whom flying is simply part of working life — racking up the airmiles isn't a choice, it's the job. Whatever the reason for the flight, if the fear of the flight itself is getting in the way of looking forward to it, let's see if we can change that, so you can enjoy the trip from the moment you book it, not just survive the journey there.

How does online hypnotherapy work for phobias?

A phobia is really just a learned response — your mind linked a feeling of danger to something that isn't actually dangerous, and that association got stuck. Hypnosis works directly with that subconscious link, helping to loosen its grip rather than asking you to just "think differently" about it, which rarely works on its own.

Sessions are relaxed and straightforward — there's no dramatic re-living of anything, and I keep things at a pace that feels comfortable for you throughout. Many clients notice a real shift within just a few sessions; as a guideline, most phobia work is completed within 1-3 sessions, though everyone's different and some prefer to take it a little slower.

Please read my reviews. I’m happy to say that over the years I’ve helped people reunite with loved ones living abroad, enjoy that relaxing family holiday or trip to exotic places. Perhaps less glamorous but just as important, I’ve helped them get on the train to work, visit the shopping mall or get that medical checkup they have been worrying about.

Working online means you can do this from home, without needing to factor in a journey anywhere — which, if travel anxiety is part of what's going on for you, is often one less thing to worry about.

A personal, one-to-one approach

I've been a registered hypnotherapist with the CNHC for over twenty years, and I still find phobia work some of the most rewarding I do — there's nothing quite like hearing from a client after they've done the thing they'd avoided for years. You're working with me directly throughout, not passed between different people on a platform — just a warm, straightforward conversation about what's going on and how we can help.

Prefer to talk it through first? Call or message me on WhatsApp — no pressure, I'm always happy to answer questions before you decide anything. I offer a free twenty-minute phone consultation, so you can find out if hypnotherapy feels right for you before committing to anything. Alternatively, fill in the form below and I'll get back to you by phone or email, whichever suits you best.

Is online hypnotherapy as effective as seeing you in person?

The short answer is: for most people, yes. Many clients find online sessions just as effective as in-person — it really comes down to what's most comfortable and convenient for you. I have been seeing clients for over twenty years, and working online for about the last five years.
