Online Hypnotherapy for Inner Child Healing
A trauma-informed, compassionate approach to lasting change
Hypnotherapy can help you to process what happened in the past so that you are better equipped to live in the here and now, and to look forward to a better future. Hypnosis cannot change the past but it can help you change how you respond to those things, reducing the power they are holding over your life. We could perhaps call it subconscious reprogramming. My own preferred term is simply "healing."
My approach is trauma-informed throughout — focusing on your lived experience and personal resilience, not a label or a diagnosis. That means creating a non-judgmental space for complex emotions, at whatever pace feels right for you, with no pressure to share more than you're ready to.
What is inner-child healing?
Inner child healing is a process where, in a compassionate way, we use hypnosis to help you process the emotional pain you have experienced. Trauma can often stem from issues like childhood neglect, emotional and physical abuse, abandonment, unkindness or feeling we did not have a voice. Hypnotherapy can then be a gateway into rebalancing the effects of an unhappy childhood, assisting with the emotional weight of past experiences and providing a coping mechanism for trauma-related stress.
But the term Inner Child Healing does not mean that hypnotherapy only deals with pain that happened in childhood. Many life events can leave a scar: abusive relationships, narcissistic behaviour, divorce and bereavement. The shock of experiencing violence, abuse, or other traumatic adult events can leave similar scars.
Sometimes clients talk about the sensation of experiencing trauma trapped inside their body — a physical heaviness or tension that seems to sit somewhere specific, even years later. This is a genuinely common experience, and part of feeling properly heard is having that named and taken seriously, rather than brushed aside as "just anxiety." It's a similar process of processing this pain in a safe, compassionate space where your therapist provides warmth and understanding.
How does Online Hypnotherapy differ from talking therapy?
A session of hypnosis begins with talking the issue through. It’s often helpful for my clients to talk through their experiences and share them with another person, (indeed, for some people this may be the first time they have shared their story with anyone). My approach is solution-focused, typically working within 3-6 sessions. It's about practical, focused outcomes. Many clients notice a shift after just one session. Each person is different, some need more ongoing support than others, but as a guideline I suggest somewhere between 3-6 sessions of online hypnotherapy.
The other important difference is that, whilst it might feel good to talk things through, with hypnosis you don’t need to talk things through. Many clients do indeed feel benefit from sharing their experiences, it can feel like a weight has been lifted. We work at a speed you are comfortable with. But for some clients talking is in itself too traumatic. However, it’s still possible that even these clients may notice a real benefit from the experience of deep healing and emotional release that hypnotherapy can often bring
A personal experience tailored to your individual needs
I have over twenty years experience and am registered as a hypnotherapist with the CNHC. My approach is warm, caring and non-judgemental. A personal approach, not one you might experience on a faceless therapy platform. Please read my reviews here. Although hypnotherapy can certainly work alongside other medical treatments, it is not intended to replace clinical treatments.
Prefer to talk it through first? Call or message me on WhatsApp. No pressure - I’m always happy to have a short chat on the phone. I offer a free twenty-minute phone consultation, so you can find out if hypnotherapy feels right for you before committing to anything. Alternatively, please submit the form below and I will call you back or reply by email, whichever you prefer.

Is online hypnotherapy as effective as seeing you in-person?
The short answer is: for most people, yes. Many clients find online sessions just as effective as in-person — it really comes down to what's most comfortable and convenient for you
